As an avid reader of science fiction or fantasy, I found the World of SHE a very interesting, thought provoking and refreshingly different story of post-apocalyptic humanity where there is almost a complete gender reversal. SHE, the new woman, is nearly every woman’s and man’s dream. The story highlights the survival of humanity, our on-going need for love and friendship, and the need for strength in adversity. All four main characters revealed their individual struggles in this new world and were very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of our post-apocalyptic world and am very much looking forward to Book 2.

    G. W. Darcie’s Sci-fi novel ‘The World of She’ takes us generations into the future. In this time, male – female roles have largely been reversed and the now physically dominant She storyline serves to jolt us to emphasize humanity’s oppressive male dominated history. This sometimes uncomfortable and provocative storyline is a topic for social standing conversations that are long overdue for both the readers and is explored by the characters themselves as they come to realize through exploration of pre-apocalypse history how they came to be while navigating their power struggles, learning empathy and finding love. Two thumbs up!”

  3. Doug

I’m not normally a sci-fi reader, but World of She quickly seized my attention, and by the end had triggered considerable reflection on themes like altruism, behaviour and environment, the threshold where empathy tips into guilt trap, sexual and romantic boundaries, and the human urge to belong to a tribe – an engaging and absorbing read.

I loved the World of She. It is original, tightly written and a thrilling ride. The main characters, powerful women and weaker yet courageous men, are real and interesting. The more you read, the more you want to learn about them and the things they do and fight for. I also liked the realistic fight scenes in this action-packed book.

I don’t usually read science fiction, but this was a book club pick (ARC), and to my surprise, I really got into it! It was exciting, romantic, made you think. And let me tell you, it led to quite the lively discussion. Great story!

  6. Karen

From the start this book caught my interest for a new world that is beyond my imagination, yet as we know, nothing is impossible . The change in relationships that the World of She explored are as terrifying as the Right Wing Influencers of Maga supporting men.

  7. Joanne

Ready yourself…and schedule time with your partner and friend(s) to read and discuss- chapter by chapter (don’t wait for book club- too much to discuss here) Darcie’s sci-fi quest ‘World of She’ and protagonist Tye’s futuristic yet plausible odyssey, navigating social tyranny, power, oppression, friendship, respect, freedom and love.

  8. Ann

This book stimulated my thinking about our roles in society, egalitarian relationships and power imbalances. It was an interesting examination of these issues with traditional roles inverted, illustrating the challenges facing society today.

  9. World Of She

    Must read!
