About the author.

Award-winning Canadian author G.W. Darcie enjoyed a long career as a clinical psychologist and couples therapist. He has always been fascinated by people, science and technology, a mix that is reflected in his heartfelt speculative fiction.

Always ahead of the curve, he was biracial long before Barack Obama made it popular. Some have argued that he was one of Barack’s early inspirations, but evidence for this is scant, and entirely fabricated.

A former private pilot and recreational scuba-diver, he is still drawn to sky and water. He is married and lives in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Oh, wait. Another one.

2024: Winner of the Household Participation Award for putting his writing aside for five minutes to do the dishes.

“Speculative fiction (which included sci-fi, fantasy, and any other “what if …?” genre) excels at opening the minds of readers to new possibilities and new perspectives. It enables us to catch a glimpse of the world through other eyes, see things from someone else’s point of view. In other words, it nourishes tolerance. In these divisive days, this role seems more important than ever. These stories have always used alternate worlds/perspectives as a way of holding a mirror up to ourselves to stimulate personal growth. My goal is to contribute in some small way.”
